Whirling Existence

The name of this song came as a suggestion from a friend. When I had her listen to it, she gave it that name because "as I listen to the progression of that song it reminds me of the progression of our lives and how rapidly all the colors and seasons and moods of life change. The song starts with a pallet of light colors floating and intermingling into the workings of our life, then about a minute into it it the colors get more bold and exciting as if exciting events in life start happening, speeding up the whirl. From there life just keeps whirling--throwing colors from every pallet and circumstance into the mix...when I listen to it it brings colors to my mind rather than pictures like most songs do." So there you have it...

Tomorrow's Sunrise

One of the greatest comforts in life is knowing that no matter what happens today, there is always a tomorrow. The rising of the sun brings a new life into each day that gives us more faith to go on. I feel that this song brings that to life. We all need to look forward to a better day!

Trying Times

Sometimes there are just times in life when the only way to express yourself is through music. This song conveys some of those times - times where the best way to explain what you're feeling is by just letting the piano create it.

Unrealized Dreams

This song is called “Unrealized Dreams” and was written as a reminder to us all of what we can achieve when we put our minds to it. We can’t give up- even when it seems like that’s the easiest option. What would the world be like if we all gave up on our dreams? This song is about those days when we see ourselves climbing higher than we’ve ever climbed, touching lives we’ve never touched, and going places we’ve never gone. Its dedicated to that voice inside us that urges us to go on despite all odds, the one that dares us to reach all those dreams that haven’t been reached, accomplish those goals that remain unaccomplished, climb those mountains that still need to be climbed, and find that potential that lies within each of us to make a difference.

Falling Rain

For some reason, this song just reminds me of being in the middle of a rainstorm. There is nothing more amazing than watching the fury of nature while protected from its elements. It also reminds me of the times God lets the storms of life rage about us while He comforts us in our times of need. (Apologies for any background music caused by the washing of dishes... :))

Rising Up

This song was a product of playing around on the piano during my mission. Its entitled “Rising Up” because it reminds me of the times I had to find inner strength I didn’t know I had in order to keep going on. It’s a tribute to those of us who find people in our lives that give us the strength to keep going. As Harold B. Lee said “You cannot lift another soul until you are standing on higher ground than he is. You cannot light a fire in another soul unless it is burning in your own soul.” So, in short, this song is for all of us who have that influential person pushing us forward, but also for those who turn to another Source, a greater Being, a stronger Brother who can lift us out of those trying times and cause us to literally rise up and become great.

Burning Hope

Life has its moments that come and go. Its hard to capture all of them- the good, the bad, the happy, the exciting- but I feel music has a way of doing it better than words. In my own life, I have had many experiences that have shaped me into the person that I am today. Most of them have happened during the past few years and have had greater impacts on my life than I could have imagined. This song is an effort to capture those times that we all have that give us the ability and courage to keep going despite what life throws at us- our desire to always have that "burning hope."
